Canadians are getting older, seasoned nurses are retiring; this is an alarm the nursing profession in Canada has been sounding for some time. This means the country will need more registered nurses. In fact, we could be short by nearly 60,000 full-time positions by 2022, according to the Canadian Nurses Association. That spells opportunity to break in and move up. These factors over time should make it a seller’s market for experienced RNs. The wage structure of nurses in Canada can be found in the web link given below:
We offer the Immigration Services under “Express Entry System” and “Care Givers Program” for nurses.Once you register as a client with us, a detailed written contract will be signed between us and our services will be as per this contract. We also endeavour to provide post landing services once our clients reach Canada, which may include pick up from airport, finding suitable accommodation, helping to access education, health care etc....
The permanent residence application process under Express entry system is in two stages. In the first stage you make an 'expression of interest' by creating an ‘express entry profile’ and enter a "pool of express entry candidates".You may qualify to enter this pool of eligible candidates based on a point system which would consider your education, work experience,English/French language ability assessment, age, adaptability, arranged employment in Canada etc…...In order to qualify, your language ability should be at least of ‘Canadian Language Bench Mark (CLB)-7 or IELTS band minimum 6 in each of the abilities and meet at least 67 points based on the selection factors mentioned above. The Canada government selects a certain number of candidates from this pool of eligible candidates based on selection criteria which may vary from time to time and "invites them to apply". A formal application is submitted after you get an "invitation to apply". You may be issued a permanent resident visa with in a period six months after the submission of this formal application. But we cannot really say when you will be picked up from the pool of express entry candidates because the selection criteria varies from time to time.
In order to qualify for permanent residence under the Care Giver Program, you need to have at least two years of work experience as a care giver in Canada. As a part of our services, we would help you to find care giver jobs without any additional cost to you.You also have to meet the minimum language levels of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 or IELTS band 5 in Listening, 4 in Reading, 5 in Writing, and 5 in Speaking and the education requirements.
CanadianFamilies can hire a foreign caregiver to provide care, in a private residence, to children, seniors or persons with certified medical needs, when Canadians and permanent residents are not available. The caregivers must:
• provide care on a full-time basis (minimum 30 hours per week)
• work in the private household where the care is being provided
• meet the requirements set by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)/Service Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
These families or private household employers will be able to hire foreign workers, on a live-in or live out basis, for 2 categories of in-home workers, which include:
• Elderly persons, 65 years of age or over
• People with disabilities, a chronic or terminal illness.
This category could include positions such as:Registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse, Licensed practical nurse, Attendant for persons with disabilities, home support worker, live-in caregiver, and personal care attendant.
Most of the foreign nurses won’t qualify to start their jobs as Registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse, Licensed practical nurse because they may take some time to comply with registration requirements and regulations related to these occupations. But they would be able to start work as Attendant for persons with disabilities, home support worker and later upgrade themselves as Registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse or Licensed practical nurse. Even though this ‘stepping down’ may be a little frustrating for people with high qualifications , this process would give them access to an exclusive immigration program for the Care givers with a liberal eligibility criteria. The following web link will give you an idea about the wages of a Home Support worker/ Care giver in Canada:
If you work as a care giver for two years under any of these two categories of care giver program, you become eligible to apply for permanent residence under the “Care Giver Program”. For both the Caring for Children Pathway and the Caring for People with High Medical Needs Pathways, you do not need to live in the home of your employer to qualify for permanent residence. The processing of Permanent Residence application of Care givers are generally done within 3 to 4 months after submission of such applications.
